How to compare neighborhoods as a downsizer
- City or county. Addresses in the City of Tampa, the City of Temple Terrace and unincorporated Hillsborough County have different tax rates, trash services and permit offices.
- Condo health. For any condo, ask for the association's budget, reserve study and milestone inspection status. Florida tightened condo safety and reserve rules after 2021, and some older buildings have raised fees or special assessments as a result.
